Red Eye Causes and How to Treat Red Eyes

Called red eye or conjunctivitis is one of the most common eye infections and also contagious. The disease is caused due to inflammation of the conjunctiva, the thin layer of tissue that covers the eyeball and the inner surface of the eyelid. Inflammation of the eye can be caused by many things, ranging from allergies, dust, or due to an infection.
Conjunctivitis caused by allergies usually override both eyes and itchy outstanding. While conjunctivitis caused by a virus originally overwrite the first eye to make the eyes water out, then after a few days, the second eye began to redden.

1. Dry Eyes

Dry eye syndrome occurs when the tear glands do not produce enough eye fluid, both in terms of quantity and quality, or because too many tears that evaporate into the air. It makes your eyes dry and irritated so it looks red.
Dry eyes can also be triggered by hot weather and dry or windy, the use of contact lenses continuously, or inflammation of the eyelids.
2. Fatigue
Too long working at the computer can make eyes tired, dry, or even watering constantly. In addition, you also tend to feel a headache and exhaustion.
Eyes blink less frequently when you work at the computer. It is then made dry and red eyes. Be sure to take a break every couple of hours and drops eye medication if necessary so that eyes stay moist and healthy.
3. Eye Injuries
Injury to the eye, such as an accident or carelessness, small scratches that cause corneal abrasions, had undergone surgery, or burns can cause red eyes. This happens because your eyes dilated veins

If your eyes are red, do the following to prevent it from becoming worse.
  • Do not touch your eyes because it can transmit the infection to the left eye
  • Do not use make-up or contact lenses first
  • Use a clean soft cloth that has been dampened and stick in the eye. It can moisturize, and cleanses the eye

Natural Way to Treat Red Eyes

In addition to using eye drops, there are also some natural ways to treat red eyes. This natural way you can do yourself at home. Here’s how to naturally treat red eyes.
1. Cucumbers
Cucumber into drug used to treat eye bags and also red eyes. Cucumber contains a lot of water which gives a cooling effect on the eye. It is very easy, that you are thin slices of cucumber on the eyes after that paste let stand a few minutes and feel the comfort. Red eye will disappear by itself.
2. Rosewater
The next way is by using rose water. This method is a practical and effective way to treat red eyes. It is very easy that you wash your eyes with rose water 2 to 3 times a day, then the red eye will disappear slowly.
3. Potato
As with cucumbers. Potatoes are also a natural substance to treat red eyes. That is by your thinly sliced potatoes and then you stick it on the eyes for a few minutes. Chips will cool the eyes and make the eyes to relax.
4. Betel Leaf
The next way is by using a betel leaf. Take 2-3 betel leaves and wash until completely clean. The betel leaves boiled with water until boiling, then set aside to cool. After you use cold water to wash the drug such as red eye or eye drops.
5. Patikan Kebo Leaves

Warm water can also be a way to treat red eye. To do that you first wash your eyes until completely clean. After that you compress it using warm water.
